  • Date of Edition –  15th May, 2019

Our target

ISBYC has initiated a fundraising campaign to gather support from individuals, businesses, and donors both locally and internationally. The campaign aims to:

  • Cover medical expenses for patients in financial need.
  • Provide essential resources to hospitals, such as water and beds.
  • Construct basic health care facilities in underserved communities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key parties.
  • Enhance public health education through programs led by teaching hospitals and health professionals.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, focusing on good health and well-being.

Event outcome

On the blessed day of Wednesday, 15th May 2019, by God’s grace, the inaugural effort was triumphantly conducted at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. With heartfelt generosity, ISBYC contributed Ghs 5,000 to the oncology unit of the hospital’s child health department, aiding children afflicted with cancer. This benevolent act was made possible through the sponsorship of Mr. Michael Yaw Koranteng, a kind-hearted donor from Virginia, USA.

Upon witnessing the urgent needs of the hospitalized children, Mr. Erasmus Aidoo, the president of ISBYC, made an earnest call for support from the public and corporate entities in Ghana. The chief nursing officer, Madam Joyce Oppong-Ayisi, gratefully accepted the donation, while also urging the community to assist further.

Moreover, during a session with the press, the director of nursing services, Agnes Ofosu-Boateng, highlighted the chronic water shortages at the hospital and requested ISBYC’s assistance in installing a mechanized borehole.

CALL TO ACTION

In light of these events, ISBYC extends its appeal for collaboration and support to the wider public, corporate bodies, Ghanaians abroad, and international donors. The goal is to broaden the scope of aid and positively impact more patients and healthcare facilities across the nation.

Join ISBYC in their mission to make a difference in people’s lives.
