Donation to selina quarshie

As part of our monitoring and evaluation activities ISBYC carries out after project execution, our monitoring team on Sunday 2nd May 2022 visited Korm, a remote farming community in the Yilo Krobo Municipal in the Eastern Region. This community, in April 2019, benefited from ISBYC after commissioning a mechanized borehole, a water treatment plant, a community water reservoir, donating clothing, reading and exercise books and setting up a Methodist church. During the visit, Miss Selina and her mother were introduced and her story got the attention of our team. Selina is a teenage mother; she has 8 siblings and a single parent. Their father passed some years ago. Whiles in JHS, Selina became pregnant and dropped out of school, but after giving birth, she went back to school, wrote her BECE and got admission into Krobo Girls Secondary School.

Despite Free SHS program, she still needed Ghs 2,200 to buy her prospectus and some additional money for transportation and upkeep. Though she couldn’t meet her reporting deadline which was Friday 6th May 2022, ISBYC has been able to raise and send Ghs 2,500 to cater for the above expenses on the last day of reporting. Executives have formally written to some old students of the school to adopt Selina Boateng through her secondary education. Executives expect to receive a positive feedback.
